MAC Viva Glam Cyndi & Laugh A Lot

I got a lovely package from MAC this week.. a birthday gift from my other sister. Thank you Ate Lisa, Kuya Bobby, and baby Gabriel! :) They sent me lipsticks that were on my blog's wish list, so here are some swatches.

Haul

Haul time! AKA happy time for beauty addicts.

Last month my family got Wii Fit. I played almost everyday for a month, which is a MIRACLE because I usually hate exercising and NEVER do it. Raymond said he was proud of me, and he surprised me with a book... MAKING FACES by Kevyn Aucoin! I'm so excited to have it!

I wanted to return that Shiseido cleanser I bought. It wasn't a bad product, but it just wasn't right for my skin and I paid $21 for it. So I went to Sephora to exchange it for the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder. I've been looking for a nice matte bronzer that would add a glow without containing any particles of shimmer or glitter and this one is PERFECT. It smells like chocolate too!

I wasn't planning on going to MAC but Raymond's mom wanted a new lipstick, so we stopped by the MAC store to pick something out for her. We ended up getting "Modesty," a nice medium pink shade. Hopefully she likes it, I've heard good things about it. I got "Hug Me," which I heard is a great natural looking nude lip. The second I put it on, I fell in love with the color. It's so pretty. It's like MLBB. (my lips but better!) I can see myself wearing it everyday.

Hope everyone had a good day! Mine was great. Not because of my haul but because I got to spend time with Raymond. My parents are pretty strict so we only hang out once a week. Sometimes twice if I'm lucky, ha. It's better than nothing :)

MAC F&F Haul

Today I woke up to find a beautiful black box for me in the mail! This is the first time I've ordered from MAC online, just because of the sale. I usually have no reason to order online. Where I live, there are a few counters, a freestanding store, a pro store, and a CCO.

blurred out my address

wow everything is black. that's so.. mac.

my little haul. it's only 4 things, but the total was already $70 :\

- 217 brush
- 109 brush
- prep + prime transparent finishing powder (in real life, the lid doesn't look glittery. weird.)
- shroom eyeshadow pan

Anyone have any input about these items?
Let me know what you got from the sale! :D

Sephora & MAC Haul

I ran out of my cleanser and wanted to try something new. I've never used anything from Shiseido before, so I picked up the Pureness Foaming Cleansing Fluid. Has anyone had good experiences with Shiseido skincare?

I was using Cetaphil moisturizing lotion on my face but wasn't liking how it made me feel oily within an hour. So I also got a small tube of Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion to try out.

When I opened my bag I found a sample of the Fresh Sugar Acai Body Scrub. I didn't ask for any samples, so that was a pleasant surprise.

When I got my 187 a little while back, the handle felt a tiny bit loose. I didn't think it was that big of a deal because it wasn't too noticeable. The more I used the brush, the looser the handle was getting. It got to the point where the ferrule was moving a bit when I wiggled the handle. This brush was almost $50, so I didn't want to take any chances of it completely breaking. It's been less than 30 days since purchase, so I went to the MAC store with the receipt. I didn't have any problems exchanging it. This new one is nice and firm, yay!

MAC Brush Haul

Don't you hate it when something is so expensive that you try to tell yourself, "It's not worth it," but you know it is? That's how I feel about MAC brushes. So pricey.. yet so nice.

I went to the CCO the other day and saw that they had the 181, mini kabuki, for only $21.00. Good deal, so I got it. I used to want the 182, which is the larger version, but I don't think I'll be needing it anytime soon. After I washed the 181, the bristles kind of expanded and it seems like a pretty good size for my face. Or maybe I just have a small face, haha.

The 187 seems to be the most popular, raved about, HG brush.. and I got it as a present from my bf! I'm so happy. He knows I've been wanting this brush for the longest time but I was never willing to spend that much on it yet. He went to MAC all by himself and got it for me. That's sweet of him, I'm really grateful :)

The MAC stuff is from Raymond for my birthday! He also got me a pair of earrings that I can wear everyday. I usually wear cheap hoop earrings from forever 21 or something, but they always break. Now I have nice ones! Thank you Raymond!

MAC Hello Kitty

On Thursday, I went to the MAC store to check out the Hello Kitty collection. Before it came out, I was constantly on Specktra looking at the swatch thread trying to decide what I should get. When I got to MAC, some of the products were sold out already! Including the tinted lip conditioners, which I wanted. I only got 2 things, but I'm happy with them.

Cute boxes! I keep all my MAC boxes, even the ones that aren't special packaging. I know I'm not the only one who does that, haha.

The first thing I got was the beauty powder in "Pretty Baby." To be completely honest, I initially purchased it just for the packaging. I thought it would be really cute to carry around in my purse since it has a mirror. I heard that beauty powders are extremely sheer, and the color pay off isn't that great. When I swatched it on my hand at the store, it was pretty, but really sheer. I bought it anyway for the compact. When I got home I tried it on my cheeks as a blush, and I actually love it! It's a really subtle looking pink on my cheeks, great for those days that I want a natural looking blush without a ton of shimmers.

The other product I got is the lipglass in Mimmy. It's light pink with gold & subtle purple shimmers. It's not too pale that it makes my lips look lighter or washed out. It actually makes my lips a bit pinker.

bare lips, just some lip balm

lips with mimmy lipglass!

Here's a picture of half of my face, ha. I wanted to see what the picture would look like if i cropped it like this, then I accidentally saved and closed it. Oh well. I'm wearing the pretty baby beauty powder on my cheeks and mimmy lipglass on my lips.

Upcoming MAC Collections

I was crazy excited for Hello Kitty, but I'm not so sure anymore. The lip colors are really bold, like the hot pink & bright orange. As pretty as they are, I don't think I would get much use out of them. The bright pink blush reminds me of Dollymix, which I already have. The colors in the eye palettes don't scream, "BUY ME!" either, haha. I'll probably just get something for the packaging. But there are other collections coming out that I'm more excited for.

CREAMTEAM [February 05, 2009]
I only have 1 Cream Sheen lipstick, but I love the pigmentation and texture of it. The glosses look really pretty. The colors seem very neutral, shades that can be worn on a daily basis. And they're not full of shimmer or glitter, which is nice sometimes. [pictures from temptalia.com]

GRAND DUOS [March 12, 2009]
Ooh, mineralize blush duos. I LOVEEEE mineralize blushes, and these look gorgeous! There are already 3 or 4 that I like. Why MAC, whyyyy. [pictures from bjooti.net]

SUGAR SWEET [March 19, 2009]
The lipglosses look interesting. Shadesticks are also coming back! And look at those MSFs.. they look amazingly pretty. [pictures from bjooti.net]

WELL DEFINED [February 05, 2009]
The foundation and concealer sound really nice. Full coverage, moisturizing, spf, good for sensitive skin? Want that :)

Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation is a hydrating cream foundation. It delivers medium to full coverage and a natural-satin finish. It is long-wearing and water resistant. It feels comfortable on the skin, helps the skin feel moisturized and helps to revitalize dry skin. Emollient ingredients improve skin’s hydration immediately and with continued use. This gel-based formula glides on during application and blends easily. Micronized silicone-coated pigments help this dermatologist-tested foundation to adhere to skin while helping to maintain colour purity. A special polymer helps the skin appear more taut and results in a smoother-looking complexion. Spherical, soft-focused materials help perfect the look of the skin. This foundation provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection with an SPF of 15 and PA+. This non-acnegenic formula is recommended for all skin types and is safe for use on sensitive skin.

With all these collections, I really should start saving up. I can't go too crazy. But maybe 1 or 2 things from each collection would make me happy :D
